Meditation – The quiet, disciplined mind

Meditation – ‘He doth entreat your grace, my noble Lord, to visit him to-morrow or next day; he is within, with two right reverent fathers, divinely bent to meditation and in no worldly suits would he be moved to draw him from his holy exercise’   William Shakespeare (aka  master St Germain)

Meditation is a most effective and highly intelligent way in which to create inner peace and harmony – which if one views the current economic and global conditions, seeking peace and security within, is imperative.

The art of meditation expands awareness of self, opening up doorways within that lead into personal power, confidence, grace, creativity, security and ultimately – love.

Tension, ill-health, stress, fear, impatience, fatigue, depression and so on require exorbitant amounts of energy to maintain; the chain effect then being, frustration, restlessness and unhappiness with life as one is seeking on the outside for something tangible to make everything ‘right’.

The key is to go within – this is where the infinite resources of all you could ever ask for and want - exist. Seeking within will set you free from the confine of unwanted, restricting and limited ways of being, for you will experience inner peace and security, no matter how fleeting to begin with and this is where Meditation holds the power. Through meditation you will receive abundant results – and all for for free – time to sign up is it not?

Meditating daily creates mental calm, joy, emotional strength, expanded creativity/intuition, improves health and vitality and brings clarity – the ability to see through illusion. Through the use of simplistic methods; breathing, mantras and the use of your imagination, you literally create a subtle ‘mind-blowing’ experience - for the conscious mind (chatterbox) is bypassed as you drop down into what is commonly termed – the theta level of the mind, which can be experienced with little effort involved. You will be pleasantly surprised how ‘not trying’ will open the doorway to your higher self within a short period of time.

The western mind tends to over-think the practise of meditation;  ”Should I do it this way? Or should I do it that way?” All one need do is stay focused on the breath, mantras/visions/words/music and allow the imagination to do the rest. This practise is by no means complex. The inhibitor of you reaching inwardly is the alter-ego with it’s mutterings and distractions as to why not to go inward, for it is resistant to stillness and fears what you will discover.  One cannot take the ego too seriously, in time it too will begin to relinquish it’s fear and will quieten down, enjoying the space and tranquility that manifests during meditation.

Twenty minutes a day thereabouts is the only commitment required – quite the investment one could confidently say.  Whichever form you decide whether it be Eastern or Western based meditation matters not, the intention is to experience a quietening of the mind - allow the super-consciousness to take care of the rest.

So take the time, choose a quiet place at home, set up a chair or cushion, candles, blanket and honour yourself with the ritual of meditation. Your life will be transformed…
